Terms and Conditions for Albizzia Guesthouse

1. Introduction

Welcome to Albizzia Guesthouse. These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of our guesthouse facilities. By making a reservation and staying at Albizzia Guesthouse, you accept these terms and conditions in full.

2. General Terms and Conditions Relating to Bookings

The “Service” provided and invoiced by Albizzia Guesthouse includes, but is not limited to, the reservation of a room for a specific date for a particular customer and/or providing the agreed-upon room and additional services as confirmed on the invoice. To avoid any misunderstanding, a booking confirmed by an emailed invoice constitutes a binding contract.

3. Reservations and Payments

  • We require full pre-payment to secure your booking.
  • Our payment terms are seven days before the check-in date.
  • Accommodation might be canceled automatically if the pre-payment is not received within two days of making the booking – but this does not resolve the customer of any liabilities regarding its obligation relating to payment for the service provided or timeous notification of cancellation or changes to the booking.
  • In the event of premature departure, we may charge for the full original booking.
  • Prices and availability are subject to change without notice.

4. Check-In and Check-Out

  • Check-in time is from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Late check-in’s to be arranged personally with the owner before arrival; otherwise, it will incur a surcharge of R150.00. No check-ins will be accommodated after 10:00 PM.
  • Check-out time is strictly by 10:00 AM. If rooms are not vacant by check-out time, guests will be charged for an additional day.
  • Early check-in and late check-out may be available upon request and are subject to availability.

5. Deposits and Refunds

  • A refundable deposit is required at the time of booking.
  • The deposit will be refunded after a thorough inspection of the guesthouse. Any damages or breakages found will be deducted from the deposit.
  • Refunds will be processed within 7 business days after check-out. Refunds will incur a 10% administration fee to cover bank charges and additional admin costs.

6. Cancellations

  • Cancellations made 1 month before the stay date: 100% of the deposit is refundable.
  • Cancellations made 2 weeks before the stay date: 50% of the deposit is refundable.
  • Cancellations made less than 2 weeks before the stay date or no-show: 0% of the deposit is refundable, full invoice payable.

7. Guest Responsibilities

  • Guests are responsible for keeping the guesthouse and its contents in good condition.
  • Guests must adhere to the non-smoking and non-vaping policy, except in designated areas.
  • Only registered guests are allowed to stay overnight.

8. House Rules

  • No pets are allowed.
  • Noise levels should be kept to a minimum after 9:00 PM. We reserve the right to cancel any booking due to the violation of the noise rule without a refund.
  • The use of the swimming pool is at the guests’ own risk. No lifeguard is on duty.
  • Guests must respect the privacy and comfort of other guests and neighbors.

9. Safety and Security

  • Albizzia Guesthouse is equipped with an alarm system and security cameras for your safety.
  • Guests must ensure that doors and windows are locked when not in the house.
  • The gates at the entrances should be closed and locked at all times.
  • Unauthorized persons/visitors are not allowed on the premises without the owner’s prior consent.
  • Only guests whose names appear on the invoice will be permitted on the Guest House premises. Any unauthorized persons that were not originally booked and paid for will be fined at a premium rate of R650 per person.
  • If the key(s) or remote(s) are lost or not returned for any reason whatsoever, the guest/company will be held responsible for any security costs incurred as a result of not returning them.

10. Liability

  • ALL GUESTS ENTER THESE PREMISES AT THEIR OWN RISK. All vehicles are parked at their own risk.
  • The Owners/Management of Albizzia Guesthouse are not liable and do not accept any responsibility for any lost, stolen, or damaged property belonging to any guest.
  • Any damage to the property or its content should be reported immediately upon arrival to the Owners/Management. If guests fail to do so, they will be held liable for any damage to the property or content.

11. Laundry Facilities

  • Laundry can be provided if an extra surcharge is paid and only by prior arrangement.
  • Under no circumstances are guests allowed to operate the washing machines on their own.

12. Privacy Policy

  • Personal information collected during the booking process will be kept confidential and used solely for the purpose of the reservation.
  • We do not share your information with third parties without your consent.
  • Consent Clause Disclosure of Personal Information:
  • The client understands that the personal information given herein is to be used by Albizzia Guesthouse to assess their creditworthiness.
  • The client confirms that the information provided by them is accurate and complete.
  • The client agrees to update the information supplied, as and when necessary or if requested to do so, to ensure the accuracy of the above information.
  • The client consents to and authorizes Albizzia Guesthouse to contact and request information from any persons or businesses to obtain any information relevant to the client’s credit assessment.
  • The client agrees that the information given in confidence to Albizzia Guesthouse by a third party will be used for the purposes for which that information is given or as provided for by legislation.
  • The client warrants that the information given to Albizzia Guesthouse in terms hereof is both accurate and correct.
  • The client consents to and authorizes Albizzia Guesthouse to furnish personal and credit information concerning the client’s dealings with Albizzia Guesthouse to a credit bureau and any third party seeking a trade reference.

13. Amendments

  • Albizzia Guesthouse reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Guests will be notified of any changes prior to their stay.

14. Website Terms of Use

  • By accessing and using our website, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and any other terms and conditions or policies posted on the website.
  • The content on the website is for general information purposes only and may be subject to change without notice.
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information on the website, and any reliance you place on such information is strictly at your own risk.

15. Intellectual Property

  • All content on the website, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of PCXCEL or its content suppliers and is protected by international copyright laws.
  • Unauthorized use of any content from the website without PCXCEL’s prior written permission is strictly prohibited.

  • These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa, and you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that location.

19. Severability

  • If any provision of these terms and conditions is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

20. Entire Agreement

  • These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and Albizzia Guesthouse regarding the use of the website and supersede all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral, regarding such use.
